KS2 Bath

A peer led support group for carers/supporters of people with mental health issues. We are carers ourselves and understand the issues faced by people helping and supporting someone with a mental health difficulty.

We are involved with a lot of statutory services raising issues that are important to carers and getting the services to recognise and consider carers needs and views within their services. We believe that carers need information to help support the people they care for and are setting up meetings with commissioners and executives to ensure the carers voice is heard.

Carry On Caring

Nicky Hayward is a carer who has been helping support her mother through multiple bipolar episodes for many years.  She is involved as a Lived Experience expert/ carer representative with a number of organisations, including the RCPsych, UCL, UWE and the Mental Health Alliance South West.

Nicky is keen to add her voice to the growing number of those, of both grassroots and establishment figures, who are genuinely trying to precipitate a quantum leap in the way mental health care is approached and delivered in our society.
